another day another drama

Fifteen minutes until the end of the day. I spent the first two hours of the day getting organized. ORGANIZED… two hours of sorting through emails, making magnets, making lists, figuring out who needed to be invoiced. Then, my day seemed like it slowed down. Im not sure how fast I should  be making these  business cards, but it feels like it take longer than it should. I think I made 3 cards in 3 hours. But when all I have to do is change the text and clean up a photo I feel like it shouldnt take  me more than 20 minutes. Then the PDF making. Oh the pdfs. So many.

Tomorrow I am coming in as well. They wanted me to come in to learn something about the printers, but it turns out I will have to do some design tomorrow as well so I may be getting a bit of a ‘bonus’ next pay. I just hope it wont be sunny tomorrow, that would be the creme de crap.

I spoke with my landlord, who is going to get me a new fridge (!!!). The one in my apartment right now is SO broke. When I jack the frost it gets warmer, when I drop the frost it gets colder (but not cold enough) but then the freezer defrosts. The bottom corner doesnt actually seal closed so my food has been going bad insanely fast.

Greg is feeling ill today, and all I want to do is hold him and bake him cookies till he is better. Veggie Goat Cheese pizza will have to suffice. Ive spent the last 2-3 days with him, maybe he is just sick of me :P

Did you know that in the current Israel/Pakistan war, for every 4 Pakistani who die from militant gun fire, only 1 Israeli dies from militant gun fire.

I should be working. I continue to tell myself that. However the rain wont stop pouring down, the office is freezing, Im not entirely sure what I am supposed to be doing, and there is no one here to ask. Not that these are good reasons or valid excuses by any means, it’s just that I am so tired of doing templates. Not that I dont love the challenge of coming up with new idea’s, its just not as satisfying as custom designs.

So far today I have made 5 door hangers. I could have made twice that if I had been applying some real work ethic, and if the office manager didnt want to chat my ear off (sweet woman, talks a lot, Amanda does not have a good attention span). Hopefully after this post I can bring myself to work a bit harder, and get around to making some new business card templates, or postcard templates.

I continue to calculate prices for my airfare to Toronto in October fearing I may not be able to afford it, which would be tragic. I really do need to travel more, and travel to see my friends. Speaking of friends I hung out with B last night, watched some movies, ate the worlds WORST pizza ever, talked about some bitch we both hate, and then philosophy. Im sure the latter things go hand in hand, Camus and Kafka probably bitched about that jock who gave the wedgies all the time. I really missed B’s presence in my life, and am mad at myself for being upset with her the last few weeks.

Moksha tonight til 8pm.

Yay Me.

Dear Outsourced Marketing Manager,

You have no clue what you are talking about, for that matter do you even understand basic sentance structure? When you tell me to “Pump it up” and to “Grey scale the text, with 3d effects” I wonder exactly how much you know about presenting a clients business to the world. The designs I did for your client were charming, they mimicked previous designs that had been done for them from different companies, that you supplied us with because they really liked the layouts. And yet you wanted the logo to take up 1/2 the card, and by the way take all of the good design elements out of it. Yeah now step on it repeatedly, make sure youve just stepped in a pile of dog crap though, and yeah there you have it. -_-.

Die in a rain of fire.
